The Beginning
This is the first and, probably, the last time I stand in front of you exposing my face. The reason for this - I want to share some personal words about Logorea Mundi Magazine. As we live in time when all human experience and knowledge turned out irreversibly to a perplexing, unbearable, multichannel information gutter, finding any sense in art, or as general, in our personal existence have become almost a sisyphean effort. The main purpose of gathering cultural values, diverse (and sometimes opposite at ideological level) philosophies, myths (ancient and modern) or thought patterns which have been created centuries before our time, was to provide intelectual ways to something that always slips away from human beings - happiness. This collection of voices, languages and viewpoints throughout darkness of the universe is the greatest treasure of contemporary mankind, but it is our crucial curse as well. It has a tricky cost we all have payed - it causes our worst disease. Modern culture logorea is what we gain. All we are confused, assuming this or not, at the middle of the endless float of words/images of which we barely get any essential sense. The main symptom which we all are familiar with - at certain point of our life suddenly every word, sound, form seems to be meaningless, things just lose their strong sense in amorphous, constantly shifting mass. Logorea Mundi Magazine is kind of last-ditch attempt of finding just slight traces of this ever slippery sense. Poetry/short prose, visual art and music are put together on the next pages not to illustrate each other but to re-write, oscillate and collide the meanings they hold and by this collision a momentary glance on reason and sense could be born. At that particular point is my tiny role as an editor. The main part is for the art of these proficient and intuitive authors who contributed. The main hope - that this first attempt of searching through voices, sounds and forms will turn to be successful for some of the readers. If it is not - no harm to be done, I believe - just modern world logorea will be reproduced once again. Take a look through the pages... LVK |
